Iron & Aclasta Infusions
Iron infusion is a procedure in which iron is delivered to your body intravenously, meaning into a vein through a needle. An iron infusion is prescribed to treat iron deficiency anemia. Iron deficiency anemia is typically treated with dietary changes and iron supplements that you take in pill form. In some cases, though, iron cannot be tolerated or the levels do not improve with oral medication and that is when an infusion is required.
Alclasta (Zoledronic acid)
Aclasta is a solution for infusion ( into a vein that contains the active substance zoledronic acid. Aclasta is used to treat osteoporosis (a disease that makes bones fragile) in women and men. The infusion is usually given yearly. Calcium and vitamin D replacement will still need to be taken orally each day.
